Locavore Australia is photographer Katie Rivers and writer Amy Willesee. Meeting at our sons’ playgroup as new arrivals from Sydney to the south coast, we bonded over our love of food and novice vegie gardening, spending hours on Katie’s deck overlooking the mandarin tree and chooks, flipping through gardening books and food mags. Until one day, over a mint slice, we decided to get up off the verandah and create our own foodie tome – Locavore – a Foodies’ Journey through the Shoalhaven .
